Born in Cheyenne, Wyoming and
raised in Brainerd, Minnesota, Joseph Brutsman received his BFA in
Drama at Lincoln Center's Juilliard School of Theatre.
His acting career includes many film, TV and theater roles, including
recurring characters such as Eliot Maxwell in "The "Slap" Maxwell
Story" and Efraim Beaman in "Scarecrow & Mrs. King." Other appearances
include "thirtysomething," "L.A. Law" and "The Facts of Life."
Acting led to writing, directing and producing. Feature work includes
"October Three," a social drama about the O.J. Simpson trial that
received numerous accolades, including Best Film awards at The South
Beach Film Festival and Houston Worldfest.
Other writing, directing and producing includes "Free Money," starring Marlon Brando and Charlie Sheen, as well as "Diary of a Sex Addict" starring Rosanna Arquette and Nastassja Kinski. A long association with Marlon Brando included editing Brando's final personal project: "Lying for a Living" was the icon's video examination of acting. Another Brando project was "Saint Jimmy," co-written with Brando and Avra Douglas for CBS.
